Just wanted to say...

Today I will be leaving to go down south to spend 2 weeks with my in-laws, so I wont be making any blogs or vlogs until I get back. Before I go I just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas/Midwinter/Hanukkah and if there is anything else you celebrate round this time of year I hope you have a wonderful celebration (and even if you don't celebrate anything I still hope you have a wonderful day). I hope everyone has a brilliant new year and that everything looks positive for you all.

Speak with you all in the new year :)

Make up buying ban update

2 months have passed since I posted about the make up buying ban and I thought I would make an update post to see what has been happening with it.
I am actually very surprised at myself, I haven't caved in or got bored of doing this like I did with the project pan. In fact I am really enjoying this ban, I am remembering the products that I loved but at forgotten about, although I have had the occasional craving to buy some make up (damn you ELF for the lovely deals you have at the moment!) But Ive been good and not bought anything (well except for Christmas pressies but that is allowed - I just cant buy things for me), most items that are being brought out seem rather dull and not that interesting to me at this moment. Which is rather strange as I normally want to buy it all.

I guess doing this ban has helped me to calm down my habit for buying make up which I don't need. (Seriously, I have never seen that many eye shadows in one make up bag before in my life - apart from the make up artists.) I am understanding more about what colours suit my skin tone, how to apply colour in different areas on the eye area to make my eyes stand out more etc. It is all very interesting and very spiritual I guess, helping me to learn more about my skin, my body which I didn't know of...How it can help me to embrace my beauty instead of hiding it behind all the make up. :)

November Faves

Sleek makeUP original i-divine palette

I am in love with this palette at the moment, it seems to have all the colour I want for autumn and winter this year and I have been using this palette non stop for a few months now.

2true Eye Defining Twist & Line

No 7 Brown
I have had this in my make up bag since the beginning of the year, used it once and thought it wasn't good. When I saw it again I thought I should try and give it another go, and found out that it is actually rather good. Not the best eyeliner I have had. But for a very cheap eyeliner it is really good.

Volumax Mascara

Ultra Black #17
Cant think of much to say about this mascara other than it is super tough to remove when it comes to removing the make up. I don't know if anyone else has this with theirs, but for me it just stays on all the time. Which is one of the reasons why I enjoy it so much, I do feel it gives my lashes that extra length (but it maybe because I don't wear mascara that often), plus it doesn't feel that heavy on the eyes which is such a good thing.

"I love...coconut & cream lip balm"

And this is all I have been wearing on my lips all these few months. I cant get enough of this lip balm. It has a glossy finish to it when you apply it to your lips so it feels as though you are wearing lip gloss but you ain't. It just gives my lips that extra glow and moisture that it needs for these months.

I am taking no credit for these images as they were found on either google or on the companies website.

Weight loss progress

Its been a few weeks since I have spoken about my weight loss, or the lack of it to be honest.
Most of the 2 weeks I was staying at the same weight, which I guess is a good thing but at the same time very frustrating when you are doing more exercise than usual to try and lose just a pound but nothing seems to happen.
And then the last week I notice that I have put on 2 pounds, I thought it would happen through my body getting it self better from being ill and all that and then there is another reason why I am putting on the weight - that time of month. Not a nice topic to talk about I know but it doesn't really bother me in the least..Its a natural thing for us women, so if you get a bit grossed out because of me mentioning it, then I apologise.

The snow is coming down pretty hard here in the north east and we cant get our car out to drive to the shops, we don't even want to chance it, so its going to be whatever is in the freezer to eat for a few days and that may not be good for my diet/healthy eating plan.
OK so I am making it sound so bad, but in all honesty when you live in the countryside which no local shops near by it can be a bit worrying when the milk starts to run low! Hopefully though, it wont stay like this for long and that it wont mess with my weight too much.

Rant: Bras

Why is it so difficult to find a decent bra for plus size?
The shops that say they sell bigger sizes, yet when you actually try and find your size they don't seem to have it, why does that happen? I get so annoyed with that all the time, it is like they are starting to reach your size and then stop right before yours and goes onto a bigger size.
The amount of times this week I have gotten annoyed with companies because of this is beyond me, I have been so tempted to actually complain to them, but I didn't.

Also what is up with the prices for bigger sized bras? I saw a shop selling them for £32.00+ for one bra. I know there is more material in bigger sized bras, but it cant be that much can it? Especially when I have seen them cheaper or the same price as ordinary sized bras.

All week I have been searching for bras without lace (the material makes me itch and I end up having a rash when I wear it, unless it is cotton lace), and it cant be wired - wired bras are a nightmare for me, they dig into my sides and sometimes end up snapping so they end up digging into my skin and hurting, plus they are very uncomfortable for me to wear, so non-wired bras are the best for me.
Most shops I searched on all had these, and hardly didn't have them and the ones that I saw were nice, cheap enough as well were all sold out or they didn't make them anymore. Just my luck.

But thankfully I found some on Ambrose Wilson, so hopefully they will be OK for me.

But I just cant believe how difficult it is to find a bra. I cant go to shops to get fitted or find some there, because of the distance (It would be around 50 miles for me to travel to the nearest city to find an underwear shop, which may or may not have my size in), so shopping online is such an easy option for me.

What is taking so long?

I feel that I should explain here what is happening with the weeks and next month when it comes to the blog and YouTube channel. As you can see there is very little activity going on here and it is bugging me something rotten because I cant seem to get the excitement to actually create a blog or even make a video, very frustrating when you do want to do these things yet you have no idea what to do about.

Another reason why there isn't much activity on here is because all my photos I took of products that I wanted to review are on my laptop. When I took those photos I knew exactly what I wanted to write etc. But now the inspiration has faded and I cant actually remember what I wanted to say.

Also with Christmas upon us times are getting a little bit more busy, with the shopping, making sure I have things ready for going to Essex in December to my in-laws. I will be in Essex for 2 weeks and I have realised I have no "winter" clothes what so ever, so I am in need of a shopping spree and with me living in the middle of nowhere in the countryside we don't have that many clothes shops. In fact our local one in the town has closed. So I am spending most of my time online searching for some decent winter-ish clothes, easy you say? Not really, not when you are plus size, most of the clothes I have seen are not very flattering plus there is hardly any long sleeved tops..and if there is they are all sold out.

I didn't want to make this blog as I feel it was another excuse that I keep having, but I feel its the only thing I can write in here at the moment.

New videos & weight loss

Been suffering with tonsillitis this week and still recovering from it so that is why there is not many entries.and since I am stuck in my bed still and have been for a week, I am starting to get that bit sick of seeing these 4 walls and watching day time TV and I thought its about time I make a entry for this blog.

I have managed to make 2 videos for my YouTube channel, not the best quality I know, but still its better than nothing.

I really cant stand YouTube image stills that they pick for each video, most of the stills are pulling the most awkward expressions.

Along with that I have managed to lose half a stone *pats self on back*, now I am starting to struggle with the other half a stone. Although I know I may end up putting a few pounds back on when I am better from the tonsillitis, but that's normal for your body to do so.

Look who we have here...

Yes I know it has been some time and a few things have changed.

1 - I have changed YouTube accounts. Was sick and tired of me my body and I account, felt that the name wasn't exactly right for me now. I promise I will not be the type of person who will keep on changing their channel names.
So what is my new YouTube channel called? Shortstuffvlogs. OK so it may not be the best name but I like it and it fits with my first channel (Shortstuffm).

2 - I have changed the name of this blog. Just to fit in with my new channel, that is all :P

So yes, that is the two things that have changed, I may be back to blogging & vlogging soon, but I don't know when just yet, as Christmas is fast approaching and I need to get things organised. But I will make a post before the new year (I hope - that is if I am not too busy, but you will all understand if I don't)

NOTD: Collection 2000 in mocha

I only applied one coat of this, although it does say on the bottle to apply 2 - 3 coats I dont like the feel of that many coats on my nails. Plus I think the one coat looks pretty good which this colour. :)

Youtube Channel

I haven't updated my YouTube channel for over a month now, and there is good reason for it as well. I decided to take a break from that channel and my other one. Things have been getting on top of me lately and I just needed to get away from making videos and get things sorted out.

My channels are no good for me (or others) if I am not 100% focused on them, plus all I have on that one is apologies for not making videos sooner.

I don't know if I will be back to making videos this year, there is a lot going on. Not just with problems but with Christmas due I need to get things sorted and planned out, as well as knowing where we are going to stay this year (which may be down south).

So yes, hopefully next year I will be back to making videos and updating this blog more.
The videos I am hoping to do more on that channel is mainly about my weight; what is happening with the diet, the exercise, how much I have lost etc.
I don't expect that channel to be exciting, that is not what I was hoping for when I created it, it is mainly for me to see myself change and in some way get a bit more confidence.

Make up buying ban

Yep, the title is right.
I have set myself a challenge to stop buying make up, until I have used up most of the make up that I own.
That includes no entering for freebies/competitions - which I have gotten most of my make up from.

So yes this is gonna be a real challenge, one that I have mixed feelings on. I am really excited for it, to see how well I can do but the other part is trying to hold myself back from entering competitions. (Sad and bad I know but it is true, I so like to enter comps..)

I will hopefully do an update blog to this in a couple of months time or so..Just to see if I am still on this challenge or not :P

Review: Jennifer Aniston Perfume

In August I had received something in the post and was packaged in a big-ish box. I couldn't remember what I had bought and then it struck me and I couldn't stop jumping about (sad I know, but I like receiving things in the mail).

It was the Jennifer Aniston Perfume, and oh my it looks beautiful. The bottle design is simple yet it has that little twist to it, so it doesn't seem that bland, which I love.
The smell is gorgeous, I feel confident when wearing this perfume as I don't feel it is overpowering yet you can clearly smell it.

I have never ever bought any perfume online without smelling it first in the shop, it was a risk, it could have been a waste of money, but thankfully it wasn't and I just love it.

As I am not that good at detecting what smells are in there I am basically gonna copy and paste what it says on the website.
  • Top notes: citrus grove accord and rose water
  • Middle notes: blooming jasmine, wild violets and Amazon lily
  • Base notes: sensual musk, golden amber and sandalwood
I got some of my family members to smell this perfume to see what they could smell (like I said I am no good at detecting what smells are in there), and they all pretty much noticed the musk in the perfume.

What I like about this perfume is how the scent changes for everyone, I have seen many reviews of this product and they have all detected a stronger scent from what the last reviewer did.
So in my view this perfume is suitable for all types of people.

Sadly for those who don't live in the UK you can not get this, as it is exclusive to the UK area. But if you do have a friend or family member, or even someone you exchange products with from time to time who does live in the UK you could easily ask them to get it for you and send it to you.

There are two sizes, 85ml which costs £36.00 and 50ml which costs £29.00.

Review: ELF Organiser bag

The ELF Organiser bag is beautiful, the perfect size for travelling with, its not gonna take up too much space in your case/bag, and can carry a load of make up products and brushes.
It is basically two bags in one, being held together by magnets, don't worry about it falling apart or that the magnets are not gonna be strong enough to hold it all together if there is too much in, because it can.

The "outer" bag has 4 slots for brushes or something similar to those sizes, on the other side there is a zipped pouch, which has a mesh material so you can easily see what you have in there.

The "inner" bag is pretty much where you keep all the products in. The inside of the bag has a nice feel to it.

Like I said before, the bag is pretty strong to hold a load of make up and it wont damage it in any way.

There are 4 colours you can choose from they are: Silver, Black, Bronze and Burgundy. They are not overly bright, but not dull colours either. I think there is a colour for every one's taste.
The bag is not complicated which I like, (I have seen many make up bags with too many pouches and zips which can be confusing and frustrating if you are in a rush), it is very simple.

Over all this bag is brilliant the price, easy to clean, strong and it looks good. I defiantly recommend this.
